Tournament information 2025
The Hoogeveen Chess Tournament will be held from Saturday, October 18 to Saturday, October 25. It consists of three tournaments: a morning tournament for enthusiasts, an afternoon tournament for amateurs, and the Hoogeveen Open.
Following last year's success, there will again be a women’s round-robin group. Participants are currently being confirmed.
Location: Hoogeveen Town Hall. Games will be broadcast live via this website.
Hoogeveen Open
Start: Saturday, October 18. Maximum 66 players, 9 rounds. Double round on Wednesday, October 22. Minimum FIDE rating: 2000 (or equivalent national rating).
Amateur Tournament – Afternoon
Start: Saturday, October 18. Maximum 100 players, 9 rounds. Double round on Wednesday, October 22. Maximum FIDE rating: 2100 (or equivalent national rating).
Amateur Tournament – Morning
Start: Saturday, October 18. Maximum 166 participants, 7 rounds. Wednesday, October 22 is a rest day. Maximum FIDE rating: 2100 (or equivalent national rating).
Time Control
- Open & Afternoon: 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes extra + 30 seconds increment from move 1.
- Morning: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move 1.

Registration & Sign-Up
Registration for the first round will be handled via email, phone, or app. Participants will be notified in advance.
Sign up using the registration form and transfer your payment to NL67ABNA0610325876 in the name of Schaaktoernooi Noord Oost Nederland, with the description ‘entry fee’.
- Open: €100. Free for GMs & IMs, €70 for FMs and youth (born in or after 2007).
- Amateur Morning: €70 for everyone.
- Amateur Afternoon: €90. €70 for youth (born in or after 2007).
